Senior Mobile Fullstack Engineer
Growth is only meaningful when it changes lives — we’re building human connection into the heart of education. Come help us make presence possible for every student.
About Us
No Isolation is an award-winning scale-up in EdTech with offices in Oslo, London, and Munich building human-centered technology that turns absence into real-time participation, connection, and belonging.
Our flagship solution, the AV1 robot, is deployed in 19 countries with 5000+ units, supporting schools to sustain attendance, belonging, and continuity of learning for children who cannot be physically present. Families consistently describe AV1 as life-changing; it rebuilds connection and continuity, bringing back everyday happiness and helping students stay on track to pass their grades.
The Opportunity — Mobile Fullstack Engineering
As a Fullstack Engineer proficient in mobile, you will help us continuously enhance the experience of our users on phones, tablets, large screens - all the devices that can control our robots.
The applications you will oversee and contribute to connect children to their classrooms, educational staff to key data insights and events, and help manage our fleet of robots. All to create a virtual bridge for children to keep learning when away from school.
You will:
Develop features end-to-end and elicit requirements
Help us fully capture the value of our growing unique proprietary dataset
Improve performance on our user interfaces
Over time, contribute to varied code repositories beyond mobile/web
Engage in meaningful discussions with QA, frontend, backend and embedded Linux engineers
What You’ll Do — Scope & Responsibilities
Implementing fullstack features
Designing, building, deploying and debugging cross-platform mobile applications
Implementing responsive and accessible interfaces
Implementing APIs, services, and adding necessary increments to data schemas
Developing new and contributing to existing container-based services
Utilizing modern build tools and package managers, and contributing to the improvement of the overall fullstack development workflow
Securing the full stack by design
Embedding secure coding practices throughout the development lifecycle, with mobile security and mobile fleet management at the forefront
Implementing latest web/mobile development standards; ensuring robust security (AuthN, AuthZ, encryption) and adhering to best practices for client/server-side development; keeping up with relevant CVEs and observing OWASP’s top-10 guidance
Contributing to configuring automated security scanning, dependency management, and hardening across our full technology stack including web/mobile
Writing unit and end-to-end tests to achieve high coverage of critical user journeys
Supporting product development across disciplines
Role-modelling AI-driven development in the IDE, CI/CD and other agentic flows
Working closely with UX specialists to translate prototypes into functional apps
Contributing to improving developer experience, E2E testing rigs and benchmarking
Automating processes and, where not possible, maintaining troubleshooting runbooks
Iterating on internal fullstack web apps to empower customer support, sales and ops
Contributing to team learning via guilds and on-the-job training
What You Bring — Experience & Capabilities
Frontend championing: significant field experience across the full spectrum of frontend and mobile application development tasks; driving best practices, architecture, and quality for all end-user challenges; background in native and/or cross-platform mobile apps including optimization and deployment; interest in differences, synergies, and opportunities between frontend surfaces e.g. Desktop, Web, Android and iOS, large screens, specific platforms like Chromebooks, etc.
Fullstack excellence: strong proficiency in mobile (e.g., React Native) and web (e.g., React/Next); solid understanding of API design; experience implementing services using web protocols like REST, sockets, WebRTC and gRPC; broad technical background with ability to speak to different engineering disciplines; fluent in AI-driven development to work swiftly across the stack; able to instrument code to create quality product signals; able to debug intertwined issues end-to-end.
Security & quality mindset: strong sense for building vertical features that are correct, predictable, secure, and maintainable; experience with mobile fleet management and version management; solid grasp of key security aspects such as proper secrets handling and client/server paradigms, encryption standards, rate limiting and vulnerability management.
Technical collaboration: clear, direct communication, with empathy when working with frontend/mobile, embedded, platform, and non-technical peers; comfortable leading product feature discussions, able to change your mind in light of new evidence, as well as balance tech, product and business imperatives.
Technical education and experience: higher education in a STEM field (BSc/MSc); considerable practical experience in software engineering; work experience at product companies prior to No Isolation, ideally working across multiple domains or disciplines.
Why You'll Love it Here
Purpose with scale: Your work keeps thousands of children connected, learning, and included every single day
Real systems, real impact: From fleets of robots to real-time apps, you will tackle full stack challenges that matter in the physical world, not just on a dashboard
Autonomous ownership: As a key Full Stack Engineer in a tight-knit cross-functional team, you will shape our product vertically, without being siloed into a single domain
Work with exceptional leaders: Build, learn, and grow alongside our Director of Engineering to shape a high-trust, learning-driven engineering culture, and impact KPIs valued by the executive team
Grow your craft: Elevate your skills in a lean, fast environment, with freedom to pitch in what you assess to be best practices
